About the Artist

Sarah Jacobs is involved in pictorial codes in reference to the representation of animals in captivity.

Born in 1984 in Martinsburg, WV, Jacobs was raised in Adams County, Pennsylvania. She was educated in Art History at Gettysburg College and Syracuse University in Florence, Italy. She received her Master’s of Fine Arts degree at the Hoffberger School of Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2010.

Sarah Jacobs has curated Body Parts at the Hoffberger Gallery and Animal Attraction at the Whole Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2010 she participated in an artist residency at Lugar a Dudas in Cali, Colombia.
